Holiday with dog in the house by the forest

Our name says it all. Haus zum Wald (House by the Forest) is located on Weiherweg in Bad Wörishofen, right where the last houses end and the forest begins. Anyone who travels with a dog knows how valuable this location is: you don’t have to walk halfway across town in the morning before your dog finally gets to enjoy the woods. With us, the first walk starts right outside the front door. That’s precisely why dogs aren’t an exception here that needs explaining, but a perfectly normal part of our daily lives as guests.
Why our apartments are suitable for travel with a dog
A serviced apartment is often a more relaxing choice for dog owners than a traditional hotel room. With us, you have your own kitchen where you can prepare or store food. There are no set breakfast times when you have to leave your dog alone in the room. And there’s no need to walk through a crowded restaurant if your dog prefers to walk past strangers rather than through them. Check-in is contactless via a payment code. You arrive, go directly to the apartment, and can take care of your dog in peace without anyone waiting at reception. This makes a noticeable difference, especially after a long car journey.
Our apartments are furnished in a clean and minimalist style, with durable surfaces and minimal clutter. This isn’t just a design choice. It also means you don’t have to worry about delicate carpets or wobbly decorations when your dog shakes himself off after a hike.
The forest right outside the door and daily dog walks.
Around Bad Wörishofen, you’ll find a dense network of field and forest paths that can be easily combined. The paths right by your house are perfect for a short morning stroll. For those wanting more, there are signposted circular routes in the surrounding area, such as the approximately twelve-kilometer loop via Osterlauchdorf to Hartenthal, which runs predominantly along natural field paths and offers several streams and small ponds for a refreshing dip.
Dogs must be kept on a leash, sometimes a short leash, in the spa park and the well-maintained grounds of the Kneipp town. This is a minor restriction that can easily be factored in, as the more open areas are located outside these zones anyway.
A tip from experience: Many Kneipp facilities in the surrounding area have water treading pools where dogs are also allowed in the water. Feel free to ask us; we can tell you which ones are currently open.
Spa treatment, therapy, outing: Where to take the dog?
Bad Wörishofen is a spa town, and many guests come for treatments or therapies. If your dog can’t accompany you everywhere, it’s best to schedule appointments in short blocks during the morning. If your dog is used to being alone for one to two hours, this is usually not a problem in the quiet apartment. Please contact us if you are planning longer absences. We are familiar with the local dog care options and are happy to help.
